5/22/14: Hyper:low touches base with Nola Stunna: An interview featuring their photographer Matthew Bailey.

To many locals of the New Orleans area, aka: NOLA, there is one crew in particular that may gain the most recognition for prestige and groundbreaking builds. That crew is Nola Stunna. We were lucky enough to land a brief e-interview with their photographer Matthew Bailey, and We also got our hands on some of his photography work to showcase the crew. Enjoy.

-Jared:A while back I had the privilege of meeting up with you at a local spot for a photo of my Malibu (below) when I owned it. When I got the photo back I couldn't help but notice your attention to detail as far as editing goes. I'd go so far as to say you take pride in putting a lot of time into each picture. On average, how long does it take to make a picture "picture perfect?"

-Matt: In most cases I know exactly what I want to do with the photo once I take the shot and plan accordingly to save time. But on average, it takes around 2-3 hours to get the results I want out of a photo.

-Jared: There's a lot of people claiming to be photographers this day and age. With cellphone apps that have easy to use filtration systems, what factors do you think separate the men from the boys?

-Matt: The best camera is the one that you have on you. Many aspiring photographers are convinced that getting the best equipment out there is the answer to taking your photography to the next level. This is not true. My idea of a great photographer is one that has achieved a signature style that when you see his work, you know who took the photo even before you've seen the name. That is why I do not use watermarks. The photo is my watermark. You must become so comfortable with your equipment that you can focus your energy on creating the image and not waste time fiddling with your gear. That will allow your creativity to shine through.

-Jared: Moving forward, as many know, you represent the local car club "Nola Stunna." The car crew itself seems to be heavy hitting as far as the amount as well as the types of cars that make up the crew. You being their official photographer, what would you say is Nola Stunna's main focus?

-Matt: Nola Stunna is just as much a close knit family as it is a car crew. Most of the members have grown up with each other since childhood and treat the newer members just the same. As a car crew, Nola Stunna's main focus would be to use peoples' interest in cars to help the community.

-Jared: Which Nola Stunna vehicles were the most pleasurable to shoot? Let's see some of those pictures specifically!

-Matt: The best cars to shoot are the ones where the lighting and scenery are just right. It is something you have to plan for in advance.

-Jared: So are there any future plans for the crew as far as events are concerned? I know there were a few installments to the "Cars and Vapes" meet series. Can we expect more of the same?

-Matt: Yes! 2014 is going to be a busy year for us. We have many events in the works and are working now to organize events for charity. As far as staying tuned, keep up with us via Instagram or Facebook for more information.
